Alcor... MH

The MH suite of mail programs is not officially supported by Computing Services, though (unofficially), MH is the mailer of choice for several SSG Unix analysts. Officially, you're on your own with the MH manpages.

The Computer Science Department has an excellent MH introduction, though some parts of it are not applicable to the Alcor installation. In particular, ignore the bits about BBSes, as we do not have those on Alcor.

Alcor actually has two installations of MH: one that came with the operating system, accessible via the paths /usr/bin/mh and /usr/lib/mh, and one that was locally installed, accessible via the path /local/paths. The local one is MIME-capable, which is why we installed it.

Also, we no longer recommend MH's "slocal" for mail processing; procmail is more powerful and better supported.

Finally, if you are used to an older version of MH, you may wish to check out a list of changes from the older version to the current one.
