Aries system description

Contact Information

The primary system administrator for Aries is Tony(Tao) Wang. He is assisted by the rest of the Unix Group. However, questions and problem reports about Aries should be directed first to the Database Administrator.

System Specifications

Aries is a HP AlphaServer ES40 running the Unix operating system. The Unix software is version 5.1A of Compaq's Tru64 Unix (formerly "Digital Unix", and "OSF/1" before that). The machine has 10240 megabytes of memory and disk storage via a dual-fibre-channel-attached Storage Area Network.

Aries has one DEC6600 CPU.

Software

Aries runs SCT's Banner-3.1 financial software, on an Oracle-7.3.4 database. MicroFocus COBOL v4.1 is available on this system, which runs under Digital UNIX V4.0e.
